The sixth SELINA workshop will take place from 27-30 October 2025 in the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento, Trento, Italy. 

Approximately 80 participants are expected to attend the workshop titled “Evidence-based decision-making in the Public sector.” The event will focus on the needs of decision-makers, the enabling factors and barriers to integrating biodiversity (BD) and ecosystem services (ES) into decision-making processes, as well as on the development and structure of SELINA’s Compendium of Guidance (CoG).

The main objectives aim to explore how ecosystem evidence is generated and used in public decision-making and to identify both bottlenecks and enabling conditions for its uptake, to contribute to the design and content of the Compendium of Guidance (CoG) through cross-case learning from the Demonstration Projects, and to enhance the connection between science and policy by aligning SELINA’s scientific outputs with real-world decision-making needs.
