The 7th IPBES Capacity-Building Forum will take place in Trondheim, Norway from 14–15 October 2024. It is going to be a hybrid event, facilitating both online and on-site participation. Due to budget limitations, financial support will be provided only to a small number of invited speakers from countries eligible for financial support. All other participants will need to attend at their own costs. The meeting will be held in English only with no interpretation.

The focus of this meeting will be on building capacities in support of the second global assessment of IPBES on biodiversity and ecosystem services. The IPBES capacity-building forum brings together institutions and organizations supporting, or interested in supporting, the work on capacity-building under IPBES. It provides an arena to increase engagement and facilitate cooperation around specific thematic capacity-building areas. The forum facilitates dialogue and knowledge sharing to explore and advance common agendas and long-term alignment of relevant programmes and activities among participants.
